Happy birthday Diva!
December 18th 2003 I had this beutifull baby, to be honest, when I had her maybe its because I had a C-Section, I was sure I would never love her as much as my first baby JJ. I told everyone JJ could not ever be replaced....HE CAN'T!!! I just did'nt realize that mommies work this way. I have only and will only have 2 children, I loved my first one more than my heart seemed to be able to hold. How could I possibly have room for another child in my heart? Oh let me tell you, in the last year this girl has squeezed her way (okay I guess I had room for her) I am so blessed I can't believe how much these children mean to me.
JJ my BABY (yeah yeah, my first okay?) Sweet boy who spends time with his sister every day.....let me just go back a bit....
JJ 2 years old starts asking for a sister.....JJ 3, 3 1/2, 3 and 3 and 3/4 asking for "baby sister" for all the time....
JJ turns 4 starts asking every week or so.....
JJ turns 5 and its EVERY DAY OR MORE!!!!!!
What do you do, as a parent? Do you not try to grant all possible wishes for your kids? I told JJ to pray....Pray and ask God for your sister......
well lets just say, God provided both times my babies have been prayed for and Chris and I have never had a problem with conceiving.....he got his wish almost momentarily ....(Thank you God.)
Then he has his baby sister...
He absolutly adores her. I can't ask for a better big brother, he is so helpful and plays with her all the time.
So here we are her first, year gone by so fast she has captured hearts of people who know her, she has a sweet disposition and the rythym of a dancer or singer we have been working on that since she was born (mommy was a dancer at 3 and drummer at 12 music is in my blood and we all know about the Gentry's they can pick up any instrument and play it in two seconds...(that is Chris's blood if you all are wondering)
So here she is....Lanie at 1 we celebrated her birthday 1 week early because we needed daddy there but this is her birthday party. We had such a great time....Diva insisted on eating her cake with a spoon instead of getting her hands dirty....(typical diva).
We have enjoyed her first year and look forward to many more....may God bless her journey thru life and bless her for all her years....

I can't attest to this story. JJ was a joy to behold for sure, and lit up our lives. Now as he is older he is going to move on to school and friends and a "bigger boy" life. SO we now have some years ahead of us with a sweet little girl. Easy and happy for the most part and she is a natural mimic and keeps us in stitches as she imitates things and people around her.
I think besides having music in her very soul she is going to be very smart, and that can be a scary thing for us adults.

It makes us feel like we are there. If she starts singing everywhere she goes she gets that from Grandma Gayle who sung her sentances to all who were around. Happy Birthday Delany we love you very much and you are so lucky to have such a special Dad,Mom, and big brother.
