Wait!!! weight
After my last entry, it would seem that Dan, the Ladybug, and Lisa all seem to think that my losing weight is somehow influencing other folks' gaining weight. Not guilty, I tell ya. ;-)) We're all in this together.
But I have noticed one thing about some of my friends - it is sometimes easy to see who loves me for my looks and who loves me for my brain/heart. The ones who love me for my heart and brain never even mention the weight. They are the ones who offer hugs and smiles and ask me how I feel about [insert topic of the day here]. We share - we care - and, yes, if weight is mentioned they will congratulate me and encourage me. But, it is not their first thought, you know?
Okay, some of this is coming from the promos for Monday night's episode of Average Joe. Melana dons a fat suit and poses as her own cousin and then exposes the men for their comments. Am I looking forward to this? You betcha. Don't we all just wonder a teensy bit what people are saying behind our backs when they think we'll never find out? Yup.
Do I think that it is a good thing to trap the men? Well, I have mixed emotions on that one. I dislike subtrefuge and deceit. I think it is a good way to get to the core of how these men are really thinking, but then, the whole program has been about subtrefuge, now, hasn't it?
Reality TV? Bah! In whose reality is it that people live like these folks are doing? I would dare say not the average joes, nor even the average melanas of the world. It is fantasy - fun for awhile, but all too soon gone.
Aherm . . . well, I guess my stint as guest lecuturer is done. LOL Have a great Monday, everyone.
