Just Moosing Around
You know, MT can be a bit big and scary to a novice. My designing daughter set me all up in this home. She did all of the style sheets and designed the layouts for this blog, and that of my sister, niece, and the Ladybug. It was thoughtful and kind of her to do all of this.
It was also necessary, as I am a bit clueless as to a lot of this. I can do basic html - I taught myself that with the help of the beginner stuff at geopities several years ago. (note to self- go over there sometime and DELETE that stuff!) So - basic html is okay - especially when I call on Lissa to explain it all. That is a great site with tutorials and reminders for old moose like me.
But when it comes to CSS and such - nope, clueless.
Everytime I would open MT I would just go ACK because of all of the gobbledygook I would see in the templates. So - I pretty much never changed anything around out of the basic set ups.
I got a bit brave during that first month and began to add links - as soon as I could figure out where in the template to place them. Then I got braver still and began adding photos from time to time - then button links on the left for special things.
Tonight I began to dig around and look for the places I could make this whole thing a bit more of my own. I had been seeing (and wondering HOW) different wording on other blogs - on the comments, for instance.
Well, I found them tonight and went a bit berserkers. So, you might notice a few weird changes. But, that's okay - I've just been
Moosing Around. heh!

*LMAO* Good girl, momma! That's how you learn, after all. and I did notice the changes here and there. *grin*
*sniffles* M'momma... all growed up n'stuffs.... *dramatic sigh*
I don't know what "MT" is.
What does "Mooseprint you" mean?
I used "Creating Web Pages for Dummies" and refer to HTML 4 for Dummies Quick Reference. (I need to buy a more up to date version and learn about style sheets, even though they don't work on all browsers.) When I wanted something more advanced I read HTML for Dummies and More HTML for Dummies.
Learning is by doing. I haven't been hanging around here long enough to see what the changes were, but well done for giving it a shot. :-)
are we aloud to leave more than 2 nuggets worth? I mean really when have you ever seen a moose ONLY lay 2 nuggets. LOL.
Good for you momma you are much further along than I am. still trying to get the hang of entering an entry. LOL. but I got the photos figured out. WHOO.
Hi there White Raven! ;-)) Thanks for coming by - sorry, most comment boxes have "Remember you?" in that spot - I told you I went berserkers. lol. So, Mooseprint you? Means "remember you?" If you check yes there, the next time you come back all of your information will be filled in. Otherwise you have to do it every time. Either way works. It's just part of the comment box.
thanks for checking it out.

oh, and I forgot to say:
MT stands for Movable Type which is the program Lessa set up for me to use for the blog. A lot of bloggers use it.

*chuckles* Speaking of moose prints and moose nuggets. our Peeping Tom(oose) was back again last night - we shoo'd him away from the windows several times (we being me and the dog - shoo'd meaning the dog went beserk and the moose just stared in the window at her until I went and added my "g'on! get!" - at one point opening the window I could actually have slapped his ass to get him moving if I wanted too. heh. but I was keeping the dog from jumping out the window after him) and the final straw was him chewing on my cable connection. I'm gonna have me moose for dinner if'n he don't go pick on someone ELSE!
oh! PS - for white raven - an EXCELLENT introduction/tutorial for css can be found here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_intro.asp It's where I figured out mine after my best friend took a class and suddenly knew more then I did - I certainly couldn't let THAT happen, could I? *grin* So during one of his 2 day vacations, I crash coursed and impressed him with stuff that took him 6 weeks to learn. MUHHAHAHAH! (me? competitive? pshaw.)
Thanks both :-)
Lessa, will look into it when I'm only trying to do three things at once instead of ten ;-) Probably a week or so. When I do, I'll post comments.
