warm day #2
Today it was warm again - all things are relative you know when 25 degrees above zero feels warm. It also lets you know that your blood must be pretty thick - or something. Maybe it just means that after 25 years I **am** an Alaskan. ;-)
But, today I was an Alaskan with a sinus problem. It hit me yesterday but I worked through the day anyway. Today, however, it put me down and out at 2:30. I signed out for the day, came home and changed clothes and crawled into bed. It was a restless rest, but it was a rest. I felt a bit logy still when I got up just before 5, but as the evening wore on I felt more like myself.
The sinuses are still tight, but don't hurt quite as much. And, I can focus my eyes again, so that is a good thing.
I almost wimped out on the treadmill tonight. My knee was still a bit tender from yesterday, and then with the sinus thing . . . I almost talked myself out of it. And, then I thought - nope - I need to get on it and walk. So I did. Achieved just over 2 miles so that is a good thing.
That button over there on the left - the one that says Going Nowhere and Proud of it . . . that's what is keeping me going. That and the 10,000 Step Program.
They each have different goals, but it is good to have both of them. The 10K Step program will end in May. The Going Nowhere challenge is for a full year. I felt like I wanted something to keep me on track after the first one ended.
You will, hopefully soon, see a little duckie or two over there under the Going Nowhere button. Participants earn a duckie (or a star - or a cookie) icon for each 10% of the goal accomplished. I am working towards two goals - one of mileage on the treadmill (700+ miles is that goal) and steps (off the treadmill) according to the pedometer (1,000,000 steps is that goal).
I will post a duckie when I hit 70 miles - and one when I hit 100,000 steps. I imagine that I will get the one for the steps first - I've missed a few treadmill days, but have had pedometer steps every day.
So, there you have it - the exciting happenings in PurpleMoose world. Hugs to Lolo. She met her new boss today and has doctor happenings tomorrow. But, I hear that there is a PARTAY afterwards. So, be sure to head over there around 6 her time tomorrow evening. And, keep her in your thoughts between now and then.
Well, I am going to get off here for the night. Time to take my sore head and nose to bed. Hugs to you all. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
