HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I told him first thing this morning, so he knows I didn't forget. We will be celebrating Friday night, so he will get lots of goodies and, most importantly, hugs and wishes from his family.

Sean is 12 years old today!!!

The first of my grandbabies - he took his sweet time coming into the world. Mama labored and labored for 20+ hours until the doctor decided that his sweet little head was not quite so little. A c-section was called for and mama and daddy rolled on into the surgery suite.

Four nervous first time grandparents paced the halls waiting for word. Finally daddy walked out, still dressed in his blue paper gown and booties and hat, holding the most precious bundle any of us could have ever desired. Our wee Irish lad with pale blonde hair and extremely lusty lungs was introduced to his ever doting grandparents.

Daddy asked me to stay with the young master in the nursery while he rejoined the mama in the recovery room. I gave the boy his first binky to soothe him - I patted his little bare bottom and talked to him and heaped all of the love I had in me - on him.

You are a treasure, Sean, and I love you dearly. May you enjoy your last pre-teen year and every year after that.
