whattagame!
I tell you - it is hard on the Grammas to sit through games such as tonight's. The Reds are playing in a single elimination tournament. Lose tonight and they would be out. Win tonight and they would move on to the second round on Thursday night. Winners Thursday move on to the finals on Saturday.
They were down by 5 runs at one point . . . a young man came up to bat and hit his first run of the season tonight. It got him to first base - he advanced around followed by two other players . . . they all scored. That inning finished with them down by one run.
Bottom of the 6th (last) inning and the Reds were behind by one - there were two on base and two outs. I can't watch - but I have to watch - this is torture! Lessa could tell you exactly what happened - she kept score - she knows the game better than I do. All I know is that two runs scored on some fielding errors on the other team. Two runs . . . . yes, the Reds won the game by ONE run!
The coach was stunned - the crowd roared - the team beamed.
They move on to the semis on Thursday - I'll be in Anchorage, but will get the play by play from daughter when I've settled into my room for the night.
GOOD LUCK, REDS!!! Big Mac - Thursday is YOUR night, buddy. Slam it out of the park for Gramma, okay?

Just as a matter of note - this is my 200th entry in this format.
